The first page of actual story in issue one as we see Kerri for the first time in five years and she’s not exactly saving the world here, at least from what we’re seeing so far! She’s also rocking her glasses here, which has always been an aspect of the character I really loved. She actually does need glasses, mostly for reading. Even the most powerful girl in the world gets eye strain now and again.
Elements wise we’re actually departing from Fallen Justice here a bit with a more traditional intro type piece on the first page. I didn’t really have to, since I also have the inside front cover as you’ve seen, but I figured why not start things out with a bit of fun, and I had the room up top so why not, huh? The Dynagirl logo type thing was actually my original take on a series logo. I didn’t like it well enough for use as the logo, but since I save pretty much everything I do, I had it kicking around and it worked out great here with a bit of additional tweaking. I’m also showing off the fact that after all these years I’ve finally gotten a grip on those pesky banners!
Lisa did a great job coloring this diner scene here and in the subsequent few pages. Everything she’s done for this series rocks without a doubt, but she went back to these pages several times making little changes that really work to make the pages sing.
