DG1-page-02

Ah dialog at last! Trust me, we’re starting slow very intentionally. Our girl has been on the shelf for five long years working dead end jobs to support herself and her kid, so it stands to reason it’ll take her a little bit to get going. Don’t worry, she’ll be suited up before the end of the issue, I promise!

I totally loved writing this script and the waitress characters. It took me about five seconds to get a grip on who they were and I was grinning from ear to ear the whole time I was typing this out. Sadly we won’t see much of them, but they do make an appearance in issue 3. We might use them again at some point as well. You can’t keep a good supporting character down!

We also get to meet a fairly pivotal supporting character on this page as well. I’ll let you decide who that’d be.

Oh, and the ketchup line was an absolute crack at my lovely wife Victoria, who cringes every time I reach for my bottle of red gravy. I like ketchup on pretty much everything, and it kinda drives her crazy, so I figured why the hell not have a little fun with her, right? She loves me!

I am loving the series so far. I love the writing, the art and of course as a colorist I have to show my love and support for the fantastic work Lisa is doing.

I think I know whom the “fairly pivotal supporting character” on this page is, but I’ll keep it to myself in fear of being completely wrong.

By the way, I put ketchup on almost everything as well.

Thanks for the comments on the colors Tim & Gin… as for the pictures, glad you like those! Took a long time deciding what to do there… I ended up changing them several times.

I personally only like ketchup on french fries, my condiment of choice would have to be queso I can put that stuff on anything. ;p
