DG1-page-07

This page has a sort of interesting history. I’m marginally familiar with corporate America, at least insofar as I know it well enough to know I can’t work there. I’d last about two minutes in that office before telling someone to get stuffed. It’s just not my style. Having said that I have friends that work all over the corporate structure on both coasts, with varying degrees of enjoyment, so I guess it’s all about your tolerance level.

One friend in particular works for this really huge computer software company outside of Seattle. They make this thing called Windows, I think. Anyway, through a series of uncontrollable events my wife and I found ourselves stranded in Seattle a couple of years ago and got to spend a week with my friend Bob and his family, having a wonderful time. While we were there he toured me through the facility he works in and I met a bunch of his coworkers and got to see some of the coolest stuff you could possibly imagine! What struck me as funny though, was the dress code. Everyone was wearing jeans and sneakers! It was so completely laid back I was stunned. Inter-office Halo tournaments, MLB challenge on the X-box…you name it they were playing it. Talk about a cool job, huh? Out of that experience this page was born. I love the idea that Claire is trying very hard to recruit Kerri into this job and as they’re walking through a couple of boneheads are playing Nerf basketball. Trust me, we haven’t even scratched the surface of how weird my thought process can get.

Anyway, hats off to the fellas at the X-Box division at Microsoft. I hope you guys are enjoying the book so far!

Wait…did she just say Dynagirl?
